FAQ
Questions, answered
Do I need a 3D printer?
You need one (or access to one) to make the cutters. The designer produces standard STL and 3MF files that any slicer can open. We do not print for you yet.
Which printers and filaments work?
Any printer that can print a part about as big as your cutter. Choose your bed size and nozzle in the designer and it checks the design against them. PLA and PETG are the usual choices; use filament sold as food-safe.
Is a 3D-printed cutter food safe?
Cutters touch dough only briefly, but printed plastic is porous. Use food-safe filament, wash by hand, keep tools dry, and replace rough or worn ones. Never use them with heat: PLA softens at around 55 °C. Read our food-safety guide for details.
Can I use logos, characters or brands?
Only artwork you made or have the right to use. AI prompts that name well-known brands and characters are blocked. Making a protected design for yourself is low risk; selling cutters or cookies with it is not.
What does it cost to try?
Designing, previewing, drawing, text, tracing and the printability checks are free. Credits pay for AI shapes, design reviews and downloads. New accounts start a free trial with credits once the email is confirmed (see the pricing page for how many and for how long). Unused trial credits expire at the end of the trial; credits you buy never do.
Can I sell my designs?
Yes. Save a design, press Sell, set a price in euros (or make it free) and, after a quick check, it appears in the public marketplace. You keep most of every sale as money. You may only sell designs you made or have the right to; brands and characters are not allowed.
What do I get when I buy a design?
You need a free account to buy. The design lands in your account: a copy in My designs that you can change, and its print files (STL and 3MF) in your Downloads section, free to download as often as you like. Paying is by card through Stripe, in euros.
Can I cash out what I earn?
Yes. Sellers earn real money (euros) on every paid sale. Add where to send it (PayPal or bank) in your dashboard and we pay out what you earned.
What do I get when I download?
An STL file for each part, or one 3MF file with every part of a set. The file is the exact design you saw, checked for your printer. Downloading the same design again is free.
How does the AI work?
You describe a shape and the AI draws it as a simple black outline, which is traced into a cutter shape. OpenAI images suit rich subjects; Claude suits simple shapes. You can ask for changes and get four options at a time.
Will the settings work first time on my printer?
The defaults are sensible estimates, not guarantees. Print a small test piece first, and use "Make this printable" if the checks flag anything.
Can I save and come back to a design?
Yes. Create an account, save a design, and open it again later with its shape and settings.
What happens to my designs and data?
We store what you save and your account details, nothing is sold, and you can download or delete everything from your account. See the privacy policy.
Can I get a refund?
If something went wrong with a purchase, write to us and we will make it right. If an AI shape fails, the credit comes back automatically.
