Outline cutter or line-art cutter: which one?

Cookie cutters can do three different jobs. Pick the one that matches your design.

Outline cutter

Cuts the outer silhouette only. Best for bold, simple shapes such as animals, stars, letters and logos. Decorate the cookie with icing afterwards.

Line-art cutter

Every line of your drawing becomes a cutting wall. The outline cuts, and the eyes, mouth and other lines press into the dough, so the cookie keeps its details after baking. It works best with bold, closed line drawings. Large solid areas are cut as an outline only, so the cutter stays light. Fine detail needs a bigger cutter: lines thinner than about 0.8 mm cannot be printed.

Cutter and stamp set

Two parts: a cutter and a stamp that fits inside it. Cut the shape, then press the stamp for a shallow imprint. This suits detailed pictures and lettering because the stamp ridges can be finer than a cutting wall.
